Big house, little house

Here is a comparison of our traveling house and our stationary house, in the lovely month of May with the rhododendrons obscuring most of our little home. The big house we leave behind has just been painted inside and out by Top Dawg Painting, and looks pretty spiffy. When we return, the leaves will have fallen and the days will be short. In the meantime we intend to travel and play! Karl Swanson will look after the lawn and leaves in our absence. Martina will be dropping in on Mother frequently and checking on her care. Caroline Schectman will be staying in the house, and this relieves our mind about an empty house!

We will leave for Portland next tuesday, June 3rd, and plan to spend 6 nights there attending Wendy's 35th Reed College Reunion. Perhaps she will provide more pictures and narrative about that chapter. I (Bob) will be playing disc golf with a Corvallis friend, John Ross, who is planning to camp at what is the most distinguished course in Oregon, Milo McGiver in Estacada, for 3 of those days, and I will attend Wendy's festivities one day, and we will be occupied with travel the others, as we leave immediately after the celebration to drive to Port Angeles and camp, waiting to catch the ferry in the AM to Victoria, B.C. and Helen and Bill Schuckel, my sister and bro in law.

Our New Home

Well here it is! These 72 square feet will be our kitchen, dining room, and recreation rooom for the next 5 1/2 months if things go according to plan. We have not tried this out together, but Bob has taken it on two weekend excursions to disc golf tournaments and he (I) found it to be quite comfortable. One caveat is that when two people are standing up in it, they have to agree who will sit or exit in order to choreograph a switch in their positions. I imagine it will work just fine when one of us is outside lounging under the awning, or on the bed or in the dining nook.
